You Are Not the Finished Version

Every sculptor says the same thing. The finished piece was always inside the marble. The work is removing everything that does not belong until what was always intended is finally revealed. Here is what Scripture says about the finished version of you. The ancient teachers described the resurrection this way: God raises you first in exactly the condition you were in when you died. Same body. Same face. So everyone can see it is really you. And then the healing begins. And the transformation accelerates into something Daniel could only describe as shining like stars forever and ever. You are not the finished version. The chisel is still working. He Remembers You

In Coco, the rule is devastating. When the last living person forgets you, you suffer the Final Death. You simply cease to exist. It is a beautiful movie. But it cannot answer the one question that matters most: what happens when everyone who loved you is also gone? What happens when there is no one left to remember? Isaiah saw the answer. God sends the dew of the dawn onto those sleeping in the dust, and the earth gives them back. Not because someone kept a photograph on a shelf. Because God remembered where He put them.
