Send a Portion
Comeback | Monday Reflection | Week 4
"The joy of the LORD is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10
"The joy of the LORD is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10
Sunday you heard about the wall going up in fifty-two days. The enemies were afraid. The people gathered. The Word was read. They wept. And then Nehemiah said something that sounds almost too simple for a moment that big.
Go eat. Drink. Send a portion to those who have nothing prepared.
The comeback was complete. And the first thing they did with it was share it.
That is the part most of us miss. We work so hard for the breakthrough that when it finally comes we exhale and sit down. We celebrate privately if we celebrate at all. We forget that every comeback carries within it the resources for someone else's.
Think about what you have come through in the last season. The thing you prayed about. The wall you were not sure would ever go up. The situation that looked hopeless long enough that you started to believe it. And then something shifted. The door opened. The diagnosis changed. The relationship found its way back. The finances stabilized. The child came home.
You have a portion to send.
Not when things are more settled. Not when you have more to give. Now. Because the person sitting next to you this Sunday may be in the month fourteen of something you came through at month nine, and they need to know the wall can be finished.
Your story is not just yours. It never was.
This week, tell somebody what God brought you through. Not to brag. To send a portion to someone who has nothing prepared.
The comeback is not complete until the community eats together.
